Located in the northeast suburb of Marion County in Indianapolis, Indiana, the MSD of Lawrence Township is one of eleven school districts in Indianapolis. Our school district boundaries also include the city of Lawrence. The MSDLT educates nearly 16,000 students in twenty-one school buildings making us one of the ten largest of 293 school districts in Indiana. We are very proud of our long-standing reputation for educational excellence and innovative programs due to our award winning staff and our strong parent and community support systems.

Each school year offers exciting and challenging opportunities for the learning and achievement of all students. Our state has established clear and rigorous standards for student performance and monitors our effectiveness with a challenging state assessment called ISTEP+. In addition the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) national legislation demands continuous improvements by all schools and districts and for all student subgroups.

The MSD of Lawrence Township welcomes these high expectations. Our Mission Statement targets all students and our Core Values reflect that high expectations and collaboration result in higher achievement. Our Vision Statement of “Integrity ~ Achievement ~ Service for All” guides us as we seek to develop a continuously improving system of excellence through academic achievement and character development for every student.

We encourage you to communicate with us about our performance and to share your input.
