International Baccalaureate Program
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is offered at both Lawrence Central and Lawrence North high schools. Often referred to as IB, the program is built around rigorous academic work, school and community service, and the development of intercultural understanding.
The IB mission statement calls for students to “become critical and compassionate thinkers, lifelong learners and informed participants in local and world affairs,” a commitment that aligns with and supports Lawrence Township’s own mission to “empower all students with the knowledge, skills, compassion and integrity needed to contribute and succeed as self-directed, life-long learners in a competitive global community.”
Students completing the full program earn both the internationally recognized IB Diploma and the diploma of their respective high school.
