Summer Learning Academy


Summer Learning Academy (June 2-26, 2025) is the MSD of Lawerence Township's no-cost summer program. This shift from JumpStart indicates programmatic changes that mean the state-required IREAD focus for students in grade two and three, as well as a return to pre-COVID reading and math acceleration approach to close gaps.

The program is intended for students entering grades one through eight in fall of 2025 and will be housed at elementary and middle school buildings. Students will attend at the school where they are assigned for the 2025-2026 school year. Lawrence Township eCampus (LTeC) will continue to be available for students to earn high school credit.

Additional communication and enrollment information is forthcoming from school buildings. 

Elementary School Summer Learning Academy - By Invitation 

Criteria for invitation:

  • Students in grades two and three who do not pass IREAD are required to attend;
  • Students who are below proficiency on IREADY or 10 points or less above proficiency will be highly encourage to attend;
  • Students who are demonstrating grade level proficiency may be eligible to participate in the related arts program, lunch, and parent-paid aftercare programming;
  • Exceptions to the above guidelines will be made at the principal's discretion;
  • A separate Lifeskills program will be available. 


Meal service will be provided and transportation will be available to those residing within the MSD of Lawrence Township.

Program Hours: 8 AM - 2 PM

An Aftercare option will be available at a cost to participating. Aftercare will be available between 2 PM - 6 PM Monday through Thursday for a fee. Transportation will not be provided from Aftercare. There will be no Morning Care. 

Students enrolled in Summer Learning Academy may attend Friday Care for a fee. Times are 6:30 AM - 6 PM on June 6, 13, 20, and 27. Cost is $40 per day.  Transportation is NOT provided on Fridays.

July Care: July Aftercare will be available Monday, June 30 through Friday, July 25 between 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM at a cost of $175 per week. 


Middle School Summer Learning Academy - By Invitation

Criteria for invitation:

  • Students who are below proficiency on IREADY or 10 points or less above proficiency will be highly encourage to attend;
  • Exceptions to the above guidelines will be made at the principal's discretion;
  • A separate Lifeskills program will be available. 

Meal service will be provided and transportation will be available to those residing within the MSD of Lawrence Township.

Program Hours: 9 AM - 1 PM

 

 High School Summer Learning - Lawrence Township eCampus (LTeC) - Open Enrollment


LTeC summer programming will take place June 2 through July 18 and provides high school students the ability to earn high school credit in an online environment. This open-enrollment program is primarily asynchronous with a synchronous component. Thirty-three different credit-bearing courses will be offered. Registration information will be available soon.
