United Way of Central Indiana Annual Employee Campaign

The MSD of Lawrence Township held the annual United Way of Central Indiana (UWCI) Employee Campaign between October 26 and November 20 of 2020 with a district goal of raising $46,000. Despite the unique and challenging circumstances dealt in 2020, the district remained committed to supporting a community organization that does so much within the boundaries of the school corporation. We are pleased to report that not only did we meet the goal, we surpassed it, raising a total of $48,964.74.

Many thanks to the generosity of staff members and the efforts of the building campaign ambassadors who worked to ensure maximum participation.

In mid-December, the United States Department of Education contacted the MSD of Lawrence Township looking to feature a teacher willing to write a blog about their successful transition back in to the classroom in 2020 following the abrupt closure in March. Included are innovative and unique ways to engage students under these extraordinary circumstances. Who better than to share her story than 2020 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Alicia Stevens from Crestview Elementary. In her blog, titled Celebrating 2020, Mr. Stevens talks about rapid shifts in instructional delivery, words we never thought would be part of our daily vocabulary, the perseverance of educators, and more.
