For the first time since the inception of the program, Lawrence Township Winter Percussion
(LTWP) sits No. 1
nationally in their class rankings after taking home an open class championship at the WGI Regional this past weekend. WGI, which
reflects similarly for Percussion and Color Guard to what Bands of America is for Marching Band, hosts regionals across the county where percussion groups compete. Neal Titus, in his first year at the helm of LTWP, and is guiding the group under a new show featuring drums, symbols, and dance. Consisting of students from both Lawrence Central and Lawrence North High Schools, LTWP was named both a finalist and grand champion at the WGI Regional and looks to continue a run towards another state title. LTWP last won a state championship in 2016.This would be their third state title.
