Letters About Literature Competition

The 6th grade high ability class participated in The Indiana Center for Book Letters About Literature Competition. The students wrote a letter to the author of a book that changed their view of the world or their view of themselves in some way.

Over 1,500 letters were submitted by students in grades 4 thru 12 in three divisions. Congratulations to the following students from Ms. Gavit's class. Both will both receive certificates and Reid will receive a monetary prize for their winning letters.

Both students are invited to attend a writing workshops for students and an awards ceremony on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the Indiana State Library. The ceremony will be headlined by Saundra Mitchell, Indiana young adult author, writer of 50 Impressive Kids and their Amazing (and true!) Stories, Professor Watermelon, and the Indiana author of George and the Goblin Hole.
