PEBT Benefits
PEBT Benefits
The PEBT benefits differed significantly between the 2020-2021 and the 2021-2022 school years. Rules that schools had to follow for reporting those eligible for PEBT benefits for the 2021-2022 school year were:
- Student enrolled in a participating school.
- Student approved for either free or reduced for the 2021-2022 school year.
- PEBT only counts if a student was out of school due to a Covid Quarantine or Illness. If a student had any attendance marked as such, those days would apply to PEBT benefits.
The Food Service Office can only confirm Whether or not a student was enrolled in one of our schools and was approved for free/reduced for the 2021-2022 school year. Attendance coding for absences due to Covid Quarantine or Illness would have to be confirmed by the person who records attendance at the school the student attended.
Choosing virtual learning for the 2021-2022 school year was not considered Virtual “Due to Covid” like it was the previous school year. Virtual learning was simply an option the School District offered for our families.
If a parent does receive confirmation that their child should have received PEBT benefits for the 2021-2022 school year for days that were coded as Covid-related absences, then they would need to go to the FSSA website for Pandemic EBT and find the link to request a replacement card.
