Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) provides food assistance to families with students who would have received free or reduced lunch while attending school but are not in school due to COVID-19 restrictions. Families with eligible children will be issued a card with which they may purchase food. Cards are issued and managed by the Indiana Family & Social Services Administration's Division of Family Resources, not the school corporation. Families do not need to apply as a list of eligible students has been provided to the Division of Family Resources.
Students in the MSD of Lawrence Township are eligible for this program if they are participating in a virtual or hybrid school schedule and are eligible to receive free/reduced breakfast or lunch for the 2020-2021 school year. Those who are eligible should ensure their correct address is on file with the school corporation in order to receive these benefits. The card will be mailed to the address on file and must be kept. Benefits are sent directly the card quarterly at the end of the month.
The benefit is calculated by multiplying $6.82 by the amount of eligible days. Qualifying days are any day that the student is:
- Participating virtually; OR
- In quarantine due to COVID-19; OR
- In isolation due to COVID-19; OR
- Out due to COVID-19 illness: OR
- Unable to attend due to COVID-19 related school closure

October - December 2020 benefits issued end of February, 2021
January - March 2021 benefits issued April 30, 2021
April - June 2021 benefits issued July 31, 2021
July - September 2021 benefits issued September 30, 2021
